How we test and rate UK online casinos
A score on this site is not an opinion about a logo. It is the sum of eight checks, each of which can be verified by anyone with the operator’s terms page open in another tab.
The eight checks
- 1. UK licence
- The operator must appear in the Gambling Commission’s public register with an active remote casino licence for the domain British players use. No licence, no report.
- 2. What the welcome offer really pays
- We take the figure from the operator’s own terms, not from a banner: maximum bonus, minimum deposit, what counts as a qualifying deposit and what the spins are actually worth.
- 3. Wagering and limits
- Since 19 January 2026 the Gambling Commission caps wagering at 10x and bans cross-product promotions. We record the multiplier, the maximum bet while a bonus is live and the expiry window.
- 4. Payments
- Which methods take a deposit in pounds, which are excluded from the bonus, and what the minimum is.
- 5. Withdrawal speed
- Stated processing time, plus whether verification is asked for before or after the first withdrawal request.
- 6. Games and studios
- Size of the library, the studios behind it and whether live tables are available to UK accounts.
- 7. Support
- Hours, channels and whether a human answers a specific question about bonus terms.
- 8. Safer gambling tools
- Deposit limits, reality checks, time-out and self-exclusion, and participation in GAMSTOP.
How the score is built
What lifts a score
Terms that match the advertising, withdrawals paid inside the stated window, limits that are easy to find, and a bonus whose value survives the wagering requirement.
What lowers it
Headline figures that only apply to a deposit few players make, verification requested only at withdrawal, support that cannot answer a terms question, and safer-gambling tools buried in a submenu.
When a report changes
A report is re-checked when the operator changes its terms, when the Gambling Commission changes its rules, or when a reader tells us a figure is wrong. The date of the last check is shown on the report.
What we do not do
We do not sell positions in a table. We do not publish a bonus figure we cannot find in the operator’s own terms. We do not list operators that are not licensed for the United Kingdom.
