Take yourself out of the market
GAMSTOP is the free national self-exclusion scheme. One registration blocks your access to every operator licensed by the Gambling Commission for six months, one year or five years. Every operator on this site is required to take part.
Tools your casino must give you
- Deposit limits — daily, weekly or monthly; increases take effect only after a cooling-off period.
- Reality checks — a reminder on screen after a period of play you choose.
- Time-out — a short break from 24 hours to six weeks.
- Self-exclusion — a minimum of six months with the operator itself.
- Account closure — at any time, with the balance returned.
Signs worth taking seriously
- Playing with money set aside for something else.
- Chasing a loss with a bigger stake.
- Hiding how much time or money has gone in.
- Gambling to change how you feel rather than to pass an hour.
Where else to go
- BeGambleAware — advice, self-assessment and local treatment services.
- Gambling Therapy — free online support in several languages.
- Gamblers Anonymous UK — meetings across the UK.
- Blocking software: Gamban, BetBlocker and bank-level gambling blocks offered by most UK banks.
18+ only. Nothing on this site is advice to gamble. Never gamble with money you cannot afford to lose.
